Born and raised in Auckland, New Zealand, Luke has spent most of his life on the water, cruising and racing around the North Island on family-owned keelers and fishing boats. After completing a degree in Construction Management, the ocean was calling, and Luke began his professional career at sea, starting off as a deckhand on superyachts.
After 4 years of worldwide cruising and rising through the ranks, a change was needed, and Luke returned home to study marine engineering. Returning to sea as an engineer, a surprising opportunity shortly arose to work with National Geographic as part of the submersible team, learning to operate ROV’s and submarines. This led to a few years working on some amazing expeditions, from the Canadian Arctic to Papua New Guinea and the Solomon Islands.
Now settled in the eastern beaches of Sydney, you will be able to find Luke out on the water, surfing, kiting, windsurfing, foiling, and of course sailing. He hopes to transfer his experience at sea and passion for all things marine to helping people find their own slice of enjoyment out on the water.
