There are few better days to take ownership of a yacht than one like this.

With the sun shining, warm temperatures and Sydney Harbour looking its best, it was the perfect setting for the handover of Nepenthe, a beautiful Catalina 320, to her new owner.

For Alex, Nepenthe represents something a little more than just another yacht. She is the first boat for his family of five — the beginning of a new chapter on the water and, hopefully, the start of plenty of weekends, holidays and adventures together.

Relatively new to sailing, Alex is approaching it with exactly the right attitude: keen to learn, excited to get stuck in, and ready to make the most of the experience.

The Catalina 320 is a wonderfully capable family cruising yacht, offering the space and comfort to bring everyone along while still providing an engaging sailing experience for an owner looking to build their confidence and skills.

Standing on the dock at the Spit in the sunshine, it was hard not to appreciate how perfectly the day matched the dream. Warm weather, calm harbour conditions and a boat ready to head out and explore — exactly the conditions you picture when you imagine owning a yacht.
