New Beginnings Aboard Tanuki We recently had the pleasure of handing over Tanuki, a 2013 Bavaria 50, to Annette and Francois after guiding them through the purchasing process. Based in South Australia, they first got in touch with us online before travelling to Sydney for an in-person inspection. As soon as they stepped aboard, they were impressed by the space, light and volume that the Bavaria 50 offers. Having owned boats previously, they knew what they were looking for, which helped make the buying process a smooth one. Following settlement, Tanuki found her new home on a mooring just outside our office at Quays Marina in Pittwater. Annette and Francois have spent the past few weeks aboard, getting to know the boat, personalising her to suit their style, and completing a few jobs before setting off. It has been amazing watching them transform Tanuki into their own. Ticking off a huge amount of jobs themselves but then knowing when to call in professional trades to tackle larger jobs. Pittwater has been the perfect place to do this, with excellent marine services and trades close by. Their immediate plans are to keep the boat in Pittwater, Sydney before heading into Sydney Harbour for New Year’s Eve to experience the fireworks from the water. After that, the adventure really begins, with plans to head north and enjoy extended cruising aboard Tanuki as a comfortable semi-liveaboard. It’s always rewarding to see a boat begin its next chapter with owners who are genuinely excited about the adventures ahead and not scared to get stuck in with and take the highs of boat ownership while still working through the lows. We wish Annette and Francois as well their family who will be onboard many safe miles and unforgettable memories aboard Tanuki, and we look forward to following their journey.
