'Adela II' is a 2002 (Hull #52) Sydney 38 OD now listed exclusively for sale with YOTI Sydney Harbour.
Designed by Murray Burns Dovell and built by Sydney Yachts, this boat was originally commissioned and campaigned as 'Hidden Agenda' and under her current owner, has recently undergone a significant refit making her arguably one of the best Sydney 38's on the water today.
For anyone wanting to enjoy the thrill of competitive racing on a relatively sensible budget, the Sydney 38 still ticks all the boxes. Whether it is racing around the cans on the Harbour, competing in the class association events or taking on the Bluewater series, you won't be disappointed.
The large open cockpit in the Sydney 38 is easy to move around when racing and is equally suited to entertaining when the day is over. Below deck is a highly functional race layout with enough creature comforts to enjoy a weekend away cruising including the recent addition of an electronic temperature controlled hot water system and transom shower. There is a large navigation area, pigeonhole storage system, plenty of space forward for sail stowage, metho stove and a top opening ice box.
'Adela II' is a "turnkey" offering. Her standing and running rigging were replaced in March 2023 along with all mast sheaves and has had the addition of a masthead kite sheave. She has 3 new B&G Vulcan 7 displays located at the navigation station and in the cockpit either side of the companionway and 2 new multifunction displays at the mast along with a new VHF radio and Fusion entertainment system. Her rudder bearings and Vectran steering cables are new, and she was antifouled this year.
Adela's sail wardrobe includes a new Chapman Carbon mainsail, J1 light/medium - Norths 3Di, new J1 Norths medium/heavy headsail with roll up reef to create a J3, J1 Light - well used, J3 - well used, a Jib Top, Storm Jib and Trysail as well as a Norths Masthead Spinnaker and a fractional spinnaker.
