Launched in 2016,'Sapphire' is a Catalina 275 Sport now listed exclusively for sale with YOTI Sydney Harbour.
Sapphire is what's known as a pocket cruiser designed by Gerry Douglas. She comes with a myriad of upgrades which include, asymmetrical spinnaker with top down furler, halyard blocks and sheets, cabin top self-tailing Harken winches, Cunningham, deck mounted jib track and cars, retractable bowsprit, single burner metho stove in the galley, Raymarine i70 depth sounder, speed and wind instruments, 2 blade folding propeller, Spinlock retractable tiller extension with easy-grip handle, telescopic fold down ladder on the transom, removable crew bags in cabin. And opening side gates both on port and starboard.
Her original Canvas pack which included a mainsail cover, winch covers, and tiller cover was replaced in 2024 and upgraded to include an over boom cockpit awning sunshade.
The cockpit is extremely large and comfortable and leads to an open transom which provides great access to the water or onto the dock. The helm position is comfortable and provides good line of sight and her self- tacking headsail makes handling a breeze.
Down below, Sapphire has a cosy and modern feel and can comfortably sit the crew around the dining table which can also fold down to convert into a double bed. There is a large quarter berth on the starboard side, which is also accessible from the cockpit, as is the cockpit storage locker on the port side. The galley boasts a stainless-steel sink and a single burner metho stove, under which is a large pull-out ice box/Esky. Opposite the galley is a generous and fully enclosed head compartment with Jabsco manual toilet (with holding tank) and wash basin.
Her sail wardrobe includes a fully battened Doyle Mainsail and self-tacking headsail, Doyle asymmetric spinnaker with top down furler, and an older spare asymmetric spinnaker. Sapphire is powered by a Yanmar 14 hp saildrive diesel which propels her along handsomely and is extremely quiet and fuel efficient.
