Sydney 36 - Yputakiteup
Sydney 36 - Yputakiteup
Yputakiteup is a privately owned Sydney 36 currently being leased to East Sail on Sydney Harbour. She is finished to a higher spec than the standard Sydney 36's and engineered to be a stronger boat, capable of being sailed shorthanded. She presents an ideal opportunity for boat ownership on Sydney harbour that allows plenty of access to her owner as well as providing an income to cover her operating costs.
The hull is laminated with polyester resins using E-glass and E-glass bi-axial fabrics, CSM and double bias fabric. Balsa core is used in the hull for performance and weight saving. The exterior of the hull and deck is high gloss isophthalic white gelcoat. GRP moulded main structural bulkhead, glassed fore and aft on hull and deck for optimum stiffness. The deck is laminated with polyester resin using E glass, CSM and foam core. There are moulded GRP structural floors and longitudinals. She has a high lift, low centre of gravity lead bulb keel configuration, including a large load bearing plate recessed and bolted through hull. This structure is linked to floors and internal plates with stainless steel bolts. Her keel was customised in line with discussions with Iain Murray for additional ballast to be built up.
Yputakiteup is in current 4E/2E survey and her operating income covers the cost of maintaining the vessel in tip top condition. She has recently received a major maintenance upgrade and presents in very good condition.
